About Me
I Started This Practice Because of a Pattern I Couldn't Ignore
For nearly twenty years, I’ve worked as a high school counselor. Every year, I sit with seniors as they reach major milestones: submitting college applications, opening acceptance letters, graduating, and trying to answer the question, "What comes next?"
I’ve watched thousands of students cross that threshold into adulthood, and I’ve noticed something that has never sat right with me. We spend years helping young people prepare for life after high school, and then, just when they're navigating one of the biggest transitions they'll ever face, the support often disappears.
I started this practice because I believe that's when many young adults need someone the most—not to tell them what to do, but to help them learn to trust themselves as they figure it out.
Why This Work
I've always been curious about people and how we make meaning of our lives. I've traveled, read widely, and spent years writing in journals—not because I was looking for the next answer, but because those things helped me pay attention to my own experience.
Over time, I realized something simple: the clarity I was searching for rarely came from outside of me. It came from slowing down long enough to notice what I already knew.
That realization has shaped both my life and my work. I believe each of us has an inner sense of what matters, but it's easy to lose touch with it amid expectations, pressure, and uncertainty. Coaching, for me, is about helping people reconnect with that inner compass.
My Coaching Philosophy
My approach is grounded in Carl Rogers' person-centered philosophy, which begins with a simple belief: you are the expert on your own life.
I don't see my role as giving advice or telling you who to become. My job is to ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and create a space where you can think honestly, hear yourself more clearly, and make decisions that feel true to you.
Together, we'll build greater self-awareness, confidence, and trust in your own judgment. My hope is that you'll leave coaching not with my answers, but with a stronger relationship to your own.
I also believe environment matters. Some people think best while walking. Others prefer a quiet coffee shop, a park, or the comfort of home. You choose where we meet—whether that's outside, in a café, or virtually—and I'll meet you there.
A Little About Me
Outside of coaching, I'm happiest spending time with people I love, exploring new places, reading, painting (without worrying whether it's good), or writing in my journal.
Travel has taken me to remarkable places, but it also taught me that the most important journey has always been inward. That perspective continues to shape how I live and how I work with others.
If you're a recent graduate stepping into college, a gap year, your first job, or simply an uncertain season of life, I'd be glad to walk alongside you. My goal isn't to help you become someone else—it's to help you become more fully yourself.
